After the parents of a fan of the former One Directioner, 25, took selfies with the star in an airport, the photos instantly went viral due to Styles' new short-hair look, a shaggy crop complete with bangs and an accompanying mustache and goatee. The new 'do, predictably, has devotees divided. "This hairstyle is beautiful. This hair is beauty! This hair is EVERYTHING!! PLEASE please keep it for me and the few other people who loves it," one fan account tweeted. However, another said, "F u harry styles! why did u cut ur hair! unstanning!" Many also compared Styles' fresh cut to that of fashion icon Mick Jagger, especially because the "Sign of the Times" singer was wearing what appeared to be a lace Gucci bomber jacket ($2,800) at the time. Styles' newly shorn locks could even have been inspired by Timothée Chalamet's much-loved bowl cut for his role as Henry V "The King." The style has surprisingly caught on over the course of the summer, with Charlize Theron revealing on Monday that her "Fast & Furious 9" character, Cipher, will have a similar 'do.  |

Don't worry, he's still supremely attractive. Styles debuted his new, late-summer hairdo while on vacation in Italy. He took some photos with fans who posted the pics and showed he's also rocking a little facial hair. Honestly, the guy looks good: While this is a chop, this is not the biggest chop Styles has undergone. Back in May 2016, Styles cut the long hair that had been his signature look for years. He posted a photo of the ponytail that was cut off and donated, and fans outright mourned the end of an era: Styles' newest hair change has gotten mixed responses from his fans. Some expressed their disappointment because the hair reminds them of Stranger Things' Jonathan Byers, and they liked his long hair more: Others acknowledged that Styles looks hot no matter what hair length he has, and anyone who was going to "unstan" him because of it was shallow: Styles is on Rolling Stone's cover this September, where he teased new music coming about being sad and having sex. He spoke to the magazine about how his music is the only place he'll really discuss his romantic relationships and how he's felt in them and after them. "It's not like I've ever sat and done an interview and said, 'So I was in a relationship, and this is what happened,'" Styles said. "Because, for me, music is where I let that cross over. A fan, Erin Saunders, broke the news of his new look when she revealed her parents spotted Styles at an airport while on vacation in Italy. She tweeted a photo of her dad with the pop star, who now has short hair, bangs and a light beard and mustache. (Note: Her tweet includes some adult language.) "@Harry_Styles love u thank you for being so lovely to my parents," Saunders wrote in a follow-up tweet. She also shared a cute photo Styles took with her mom. "He was so sweet and kind," she wrote. Known for having signature long hair flipped over to one side, Styles was spotted out in Italy this weekend sporting what appears to be a bowl cut-type hairstyle with very short front layers. He was also seen with new facial hair, too. A day later, the singer and actor covered up his new haircut with a hat while taking selfies with fans: It's not the first time one of Styles's haircuts has sent his fans into a meltdown. Back in 2017 he trimmed his hair to star in the Christopher Nolan World War II film Dunkirk. "I assumed when auditioning for a [movie] based in World War II I'd probably have to have a trim," he told E News at the time. "It was a little breezy behind the ears, which was nice." Fans have been taking to Twitter to express their thoughts on his latest chop: Some fans didn't understand all the commotion. After all, it's just hair: In 2015, Styles spoke about his love for a man bun on the Alan Carr show alongside his other One Direction members. Yes, we're talking about his occasionally-lengthy-but-always-striking mop top of curls, which basically qualified as the sixth member of `1D all along. It's a huge part of his look, obviously, and that's why it's utterly shell-shocking to say that he's just cut it all off. On September 1, a Harry Styles fan account on Instagram posted some selfies (the source of which are unknown) of fans posing with Styles, who is sporting a very polarizing new hairdo. The ear-length curls he's worn on and off in the spotlight for the past nine years are gone, and what's left is a '60s-inspired crop with short bangs. This is a given for Styles, but it screams "Mick Jagger." Though he hasn't made any public appearances or posted any of his own pictures of the cut, word spread rapidly among his fans — and many of them are not cool with this. While plenty have swarmed the Internet to say he still looks great, others are getting very real about just how much they hate the fact that Styles's curls are gone. Twitter is basically about to throw a riot over this dude's hair. People are asking him if he's all right, demanding he grow his curls back, and even going so far as to say they might not continue to be fans (a little dramatic, but OK). But what those who are still on the bandwagon have pointed out is that this is not the first time Styles has forayed into this very choppy hair territory.
