MS Dhoni was rumoured to be dating Deepika Padukone back in the day
While she is happily married to Bollywood star Ranveer Singh now, Deepika Padukone has had quite a few link ups ever since she joined Bollywood. She was rumoured to be dating business tycoon Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth Mallya before dating Ranveer. Her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor made headlines for years. But before that, Deepika was into cricketers as she was rumoured to be dating, former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni and later, all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.
An old report by Catch News revealed that Deepika and Dhoni had met at an event first and the former captain was mesmerised by the Bollywood diva instantly. He, at the time had invited Deepika to attend some of the matches of the Indian cricket team, which she gladly obliged. If rumours are to be believed, the two soon started seeing each other as Deepika too was smitten by Dhoni’s charm.
However, the report suggests that Deepika had one request for Dhoni, who used to flaunt his long blonde tresses on the field at the time. In fact, former Pakistani leader, Pervez Musharraf had once, during a match, praised his hair and overall look.
But rumours suggest that Deepika wasn’t too fond of them. And like every man trying to woo his girl, Dhoni chopped his long hair off as soon as he found out that Deepika doesn’t like it. Unfortunately for the former Indian cricket captain, Deepika was soon smitten by another Indian cricketer – Yuvraj Singh.
However, take this piece of news with a pinch of salt because the Indian cricket captain, in the past, has revealed that he cuts his hair every time India wins a world cup. While, he claimed to have cut his long hair after India’s T20 world cup victory in 2007, Dhoni went bald after India’s victory in the 2011 ICC World Cup.
Today, the former Indian captain is happily married to Sakshi Dhoni and his instagram posts with his daughter Ziva is loved by his fans and netizens alike.
